Channel Letter Signs
Want your name to stand out on the building, day and night?
Channel letters are the individual, three-dimensional letters you see on storefronts, shopping centers and office buildings. Each letter is built on its own, lit from inside with LEDs, and mounted to your building so your name reads clearly from the parking lot and the road.
MRC Signs handles the whole project: design, landlord and township approvals, fabrication, electrical and installation. You get one point of contact from the first sketch to the night the sign turns on, and the same team is there if it ever needs service.

Channel Letter Styles
Front-lit letters have colored acrylic faces that glow at night. They are the most common choice for retail and restaurants because they are bright, easy to read and can match your brand colors closely.
Reverse-lit (halo) letters have solid metal faces and shine light backward onto the wall, creating a soft glow around each letter. They give offices, medical practices and upscale retail a clean, premium look.
Front and halo combination letters light both the face and the wall behind it for maximum visibility and depth.
Non-illuminated dimensional letters in aluminum, acrylic or PVC work well for interiors, lobbies and buildings where lighting isn’t needed or allowed.
Raceway or Direct Mount?
A raceway is a slim metal box behind the letters that holds the wiring and power supplies. It means fewer holes in your building and an easier install, and it’s often required by shopping center landlords. Direct-mount letters attach individually to the wall for the cleanest look, with wiring run behind the fascia. We’ll recommend the right option for your building, your landlord’s sign criteria and your budget.
Bright, Efficient LED Lighting
Every lit channel letter we build uses LED modules, which use far less power than old neon and fluorescent systems and last for years with little maintenance. Already have older letters? We can retrofit them with LEDs so they look new again and cost less to run.
Permits and Landlord Approvals, Handled
Most townships require a sign permit, and most shopping centers have their own sign criteria. We prepare the drawings, submit the applications and work through any revisions so your sign is approved and installed correctly the first time. Learn more about sign permitting.
How a Channel Letter Project Works
- Site visit and goals. We look at your building, measure the space and talk about what you want the sign to do.
- Design and proof. You get a scaled rendering of the sign on your building to review and approve.
- Permits and fabrication. We handle approvals and build your letters to spec.
- Installation. Our crew mounts and wires the sign and makes sure everything is lit and level.
- Ongoing service. If anything ever goes dark, we fix it.
Channel Letter FAQs
How long does a channel letter sign take?
Timing depends mostly on permits and landlord approval. Once your design is approved, we’ll give you a clear schedule for fabrication and installation.
How much does a channel letter sign cost?
Price depends on letter height, number of letters, lighting style and mounting. We’ll give you a free, itemized quote after we see your site and design.
Can you match my logo and brand colors?
Yes. We can match brand colors with acrylic and vinyl, and build logos as custom-shaped letters or a separate logo cabinet.
Do you serve my area?
